DOGO
Installation
Galvanized steel, iron, synthetic enamel, motor
This work originated from a photograph I found online of the DOGO SS 2000, a prototype created in 1970 by Clemar Bucci, former Argentine Mecánica Nacional Fuerza Libre racing champion. The DOGO was presented at the Human Comfort Exhibition held at La Rural that same year, and was never seen again.
I decided to bring the DOGO back to life by creating my own version. Working from the photograph, I first built a paper model, which I then scaled up to full size in galvanized steel and iron.
For its presentation, I recreated the showroom of a car dealership, with the vehicle rotating on its own axis by means of an integrated motor. Unlike the original DOGO, this version entered production: visitors to the exhibition could take home a printed copy of my original paper prototype to cut out and assemble themselves.
